Why You Should Care:
This sh!t makes you wanna SHAKE IT, yo!

Let's be clear right out the gate: If "You Can" -- the first track on Body Language's Social Studies release -- doesn't make you think YOU Can -- dance, that is! -- or doesn't at least make you Wanna & WISH You Could, then you should maybe check your pulse immediately, as something could possibly be wrong with you.

Part disco house, part indie rock, part 21st-century electropop, Body Language savvily mixes the old school with the new. Soulful expression and and funky instrumentation meld with modern production and an urban party feel to deliver dance floor and earbud candy for days. Rising out the basements and into the parties of Brooklyn and beyond, band members Grant Wheeler, Matt Young, Ian Chang and Angelica Bess combine, among other elements, grooves upbeat and down, voices male and female, and sounds electronic and acoustic, for a smooth, psychedelic synthpop blend both exotic and familiar that goes down easy but still leaves a little something to chew on.

So whether you're a retired Studio 52 diva looking to relive your halcyon days, or an iPhone4S-toting electropop kid always looking for the latest, Social Studies will likely find its place into your library and provide the motive force needed to shake your booty and warm your body and soul straight through the chilly winter months ahead. The album is available for free streaming and purchase here, so check it out.

And better yet, if it feels good, DO IT! Body Language will be here in DC at U Street Music Hall TONIGHT, and we'll be there, so come hit the cork-cushioned UHall dance floor with us and see what this promising young group packs into their live performances!
