For 2011's The Waking Sleep, singer songwriter Katie Herzig took a left turn from her previous records. Pulling more from her time spent writing music for films and television show, Sleep is a seemingly more polished effort than 2008's Apple Tree or her work with Colorado band Newcomers Home, but a closer look reveals that same distinctively heartfelt material that Herzig's fans had come to know and love.
Check out the video below to see Herzig performing the opening track of The Waking Sleep, "Free My Mind", live in the studio at Charlottesville's WNRN to see what all the hubub is about. And don't forget, Herzig plays TONIGHT at The Red Palace with Bison opening. Tickets are still available and it's sure to be a killer show, so make with the good sense and carry your butt down to H Street tonight to check out this acclaimed singer/songwriter in as intimate a setting as your ever going to get.
