The Drums @ Black Cat [DC] - 5/13/2019

Touring in support of their latest LP Brutalism, NYC’s The Drums recently landed at Black Cat, and Pierce and company made it clear that while they’re keeping the same energy and nostalgic vibes of their earlier work, Brutalism is a more personal and melancholic effort, tackling topics like relationships and mental health. Songs like “Let's Go Surfing," “Money,” and “626 Bedford Avenue” all share a common DNA: No matter what you are doing, when the sound hits you, there is an instantaneous need to dance, dance, dance.

Opening for The Drums was Tanukichan, from Oakland, California.
