TRACKING: Ben Folds Five - "Erase Me"

SOUNDS LIKE: Ben Folds Five!
WHY YOU SHOULD CARE: Because Ben Folds Five is back and sounding better than ever!

Sure, Ben Folds has had a pretty successful solo career since the amicable split of his group Ben Folds Five in 1999, but who doesn't love a reunion these days?  After a thirteen year absence, Folds has reunited with his former bandmates Robert Sledge and Darren Jessee to take part in all of your typical reunion hullabaloo.

And from the sounds of our first taste of The Sound Of The Life Of The Mind, "Erase Me" picks up where the Five left off with the crimally underrated The Unauthorized Biography of Reinhold Messner.  Folds signature tickling of the keys is wrapped perfectly around Sledge's fuzzed out bassline our ears have missed.  The 10cc harmonies of the verses lead to a quasi-gang vocal by the end of this stellar song from a stellar band that the music world has been missing.  One can only hope the rest of the songs are as good as "Erase Me" when Mind comes out on September 18th.
