Living proof that you can sunny, 60's psychedelic pop and live in harmony with raging punk/post punk like Television, this is the track that put Matthew Sweet on the map. In 1991 there was absolutely nothing on the radio that even came close to this glorious explosion of nerd rock to be heard. Robert Quine and Richard Lloyd (founder of the aforementioned Television) don't so much command their instruments as they do unleash them, and the masterful interplay that results is shreddingly virtuostic look at just what the guitar as an instrument shouldn't be able to do. Combined with Sweet's schoolboy-with-a-hint-of-dread voice and it's no surprise that this song not only sounds relevant today, but it still manages to inspire.
